Heisman Watch

Tim Tebow- After winning the National Championship, he decided to come back for his senior year to win another. Tebow is the epitome of a leader and an athlete who cares more about his team winning than his own statistics. One thing that every college football fan will never forget is when he guaranteed to win every game after their loss to Ole Miss last year. Florida has a relatively easy schedule this year due to the fact that their first four games are at home. With Florida returning all of their defensive starters, Tebow and key offensive players such as Demps and Rainey look for Florida to take down the SEC and play in the Rose Bowl. Key Game- @ LSU

Colt McCoy- Was the Heisman runner-up last year, and like Tebow, decided to come back for his senior year to win a National Championship. Last year, McCoy set the NCAA single-season record for completion percentage at 76.7%. Also led the team in rushing with 561 yards and 11 TD's. McCoy threw for 3,859 yards and 34 TDs (eight INTs) for a passer rating of 173.8 (third NCAA). The Longhorns did lose Quan Cosby who was their top receiver, but do return Jordan Shipley, Vondrell McGee and their entire starting o-line. McCoy will need sophomore receiver Malcolm Williams (6-3 220) to step up if the Longhorns want to get to the National Championship. Key Games- Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl, @ Oklahoma St

Sam Bradford- Bradford won the Heisman last year as a sophomore, and looks to improve upon his nation leading 50 touchdown passes. In two seasons, Bradford is 23-5 as a starter. He has thrown for 7,841 yards. He has thrown 86 touchdowns and only 16 interceptions. Oklahoma did lose key offensive starters such as Juaqin Iglesias and Manuel Johnson. On the offensive line, Oklahoma loses four starters including the anchor OT Phil Loadholt (6-8 337) who was drafted by the Vikings in the second round. Bradford will have to use 6-6 TE Jermaine Gresham, and his quick release if he wants a chance at the Heisman this year.
Key Games- @ Miami, @ Texas Tech, Texas at the Cotton Bowl

Jahvid Best- Many see Best as being an underdog in this race but his stats speak for himself. Last year Best was the leading rusher in the nation. He ran 194 times for 1,580 yards and 15 scores while averaging 8.1 yards per carry. The one knock on Best is his durability, so staying healthy will be a key for a Heisman season. This off season Best has added 7 pounds of muscle and has been working on his flexibility with a daily course of stretching. Cal is so excited about their all-purpose running back that they even created a website www.best4heisman.com for the upcoming year.
Key Games- @ Oregon, USC
